VoicePoints Social Media Awards 2020 goes international, embraces diversity and inclusion

As we celebrate the tenth year of VoicePoints and the sixth year of its Social Media Awards, we are again going international in this year’s edition of VoicePoints Social Media Awards.

This is a remarkable year as we received 394,168 votes from 122 countries. We also launched new categories as we embrace diversity and inclusion – adding foreign categories and BL series and couples, and more!

And the winners of the #VPSocialMediaAwards2020 are…

Pinoy Newcomer Artist of 2017 and Hottest Pinoy of 2018 is now our Pinoy Social Media Icon of 2020, the highest title we give to a Filipino – whatever field (s)he is in.

Kathryn Bernardo, with 26.87% of votes, is the Most Beautiful Pinay Social Media Star of the Year.

SHA Boys member and newcomer Gelo Rivera wins big as Hottest Pinoy Social Media Star of the Year. He got the highest votes from Facebook and Twitter.

Sarah G, our Pinoy of the Year 2018, is our Pinoy Solo Artist of the Year.

We are giving Inigo Pascual a special award due to his outstanding performance in the Hottest Pinoy category. He is our Hottest Pinoy Solo Artist of the Year.

This maybe the year of Benedict Cua as he is named Pinoy Digital Influencer of the Year, besting 14 other influencers in the Philippines.

Mimiyuuuh! Our Pinoy Trending Star of the Year. He is really slaying it!

JC Alcantara is the big winner of the Pinoy Breakthrough Artist of the Year category.

He’s got awards for the movies. He’s got talent. Elijah Canlas is our Pinoy Breakthrough Artist for Movies.

If we have Elijah, we have Kokoy De Santos as the Pinoy Breakthrough Artist for Digital Series.

SB19 as one of the big winners in this year’s edition, placed third to JC and Kokoy. The group is our Pinoy Breakthrough Artist for Performing Arts.

You may have missed cinemas, but thanks to the internet! We were able to watch ‘He Who Is Without Sin’ and this is our Pinoy Digital Movie of the Year, drawing 85.63% of votes.

Pinoy Digital Series of the Year, with 43.05% of votes, is Gameboys.

Regardless what team you are in, ‘Start-Up’ is our Best Foreign Digital Series of the Year, with 43.26% of votes.

We give a special award to non-finalist ‘The Gifted’ for its contribution to the community and students. It is our Outstanding Foreign Digital Series of the Year.

We all need to agree that this year is the year of BL in the Philippines. Gameboys topped the board with 40.06% of votes. This is our Pinoy Best BL Series of the Year.

BL does not stop here. There are more. Kicking off the BL couple award, Breakthrough Artists Elijah and Kokoy are Pinoy BL Couple of the Year, with 31.46% of votes.

It’s a landslide victory for NanonChimon as Best Foreign BL Couple of the Year. We really hope that they would have a good material for our viewing.

Placing second in the group category is MNL48. It is our Pinoy Girl Group of the Year.

It is not our nominee, but it is our Editor’s Choice in the group category. Ben&Ben is our Pinoy Music Group of the Year.

You may have heard different songs during this year of pandemic. Thanks to ‘Alab’ of SB19 and other Pinoy music. ‘Alab’ is our Pinoy LSS of the Year, with 75.98% of votes.

We shifted our platform from television channels to digital channels. Thanks to them for giving us a treat and a different taste of entertainment. The IdeaFirst Company, that producer ‘Gameboys’ and ‘Pearl Next Door’ is our Pinoy Digital Channel of the Year, with 73.82% of votes.
